Underwater metamaterials hold promise as multifunctional platforms that combine sound control with load-bearing capability. However, selectively tailoring acoustic and mechanical responses remains challenging because geometric changes that tune one can also alter the other. In this work, we propose nested underwater metamaterials, three-dimensional architectures that embed a water-filled cavity within a graph-defined truss network, enabling wave manipulation and mechanical properties to be geometrically programmed. We develop a generative editing framework that discovers compensating geometric pathways along which a target material property is varied while non-target properties are held within prescribed ranges. We experimentally demonstrate underwater wavefront-shaping devices that are acoustically graded yet exhibit a nearly isotropic elastic response. This work establishes a route to multifunctional metamaterial design through discovering coupled responses across physical domains.
